The Purple d'Oro daylily is an excellent choice for borders, mass plantings, containers, and as a groundcover. It is also a good plant for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. The plant has a compact clump of arching, linear, grass-like leaves and features 2.75 to 3-inch diameter flowers that are a reddish or lavender-purple color with ruffled edges and a yellow or chartreuse throat.
