The Robust Male Fern forms dense clumps of long, leathery, dark green fronds that are often described as wavy or ruffled. They grow upright and can reach a height of 3 to 5 feet. Due to its size and stately appearance, it is excellent as a specimen plant, a backdrop for other shade-loving plants, or for use in woodland gardens, borders, and containers.
