A fast-growing, deciduous shrub with an upright, arching, and spreading habit. The flowers are its most notable feature. In early to mid-spring, before the leaves emerge, the bare branches are completely covered in an abundance of sunny, deep golden-yellow, bell-shaped flowers. After the flowering period, the foliage emerges. The leaves are a medium green throughout the summer, and they turn a pleasant yellowish-green or purplish color in the fall.
