The foliage is large, broad, thick, slightly wavy and somewhat cupped. The center starts out chartreuse in spring and matures to a beautiful, translucent gold or apple green. This center is framed by a darker, green to deep green margin, giving it a marbled, "guacamole" look. The color brightens dramatically with sun exposure. It produces large, highly fragrant, pale lavender to near-white flowers on tall stalks and the scent is sweet and intense, resembling jasmine or gardenia.
