Alice Oakleaf Hydrangea
Alice Oakleaf Hydrangea
Alice Oakleaf Hydrangea forms a large, rounded, upright and multi-stemmed clump. It’s blooms are massive, pyramidal flower clusters (panicles) up to 12-14 inches long. Flowers emerge white in early summer, age to a lovely pink and finally fade to russet or wine-red in the fall. It has large, deep green leaves shaped like those of an oak tree (hence the name). In the Fall, the leaves turn a brilliant, deep mahogany, crimson or burgundy, often holding color well into winter. Once the leaves drop, the shrub reveals beautiful exfoliating, cinnamon-colored bark, adding texture and color to the winter landscape.
