Coral Bark Japanese Maple
Coral Bark Japanese Maple
The Coral Bark Japanese Maple is a highly prized cultivar known for its vibrant coral-red to pinkish-red bark on young branches, which provides outstanding winter interest. Deeply lobed (5–7 lobes), palmate leaves emerge with a pinkish or reddish tint in spring, mature to a bright light green in summer, and turn attractive shades of yellow, gold, and light red in fall. The standout feature is bright coral-red or salmon-pink bark on young stems and branches, most vivid in fall and winter. The color is especially prominent on new growth. Small reddish flowers emerge in spring, followed by winged samaras (seeds).
