Despite its delicate appearance, Little Kitten is remarkably tough. It holds its shape beautifully through Oklahoma winds and doesn't flop open in the center like some larger grasses. The blades are incredibly thin, giving the plant a misty or blurred appearance from a distance. Like its big brother 'Adagio', it turns a lovely golden-tan in the winter and holds its seed heads well, providing a miniature architectural element during the cold months.
