Double Feature Crape Myrtle
Double Feature Crape Myrtle
The most notable feature is its continuous display of brilliant ruby-red to fuchsia-red flowers. The blooms are numerous and appear in large clusters from early summer and continue through the first frost in the fall. A unique and highly desirable trait is its ability to rebloom on the same flower panicles, which contributes to its incredibly long flowering season. It also produces no seed capsules, meaning all the plant's energy is put into producing flowers. The new foliage emerges with a striking wine-red color in spring before maturing to a deep, glossy green as the season progresses. In the fall, the leaves often turn a lovely reddish-yellow, providing additional seasonal interest.
