Shoal Creek Chaste Tree
Shoal Creek Chaste Tree
Shoal Creek Chaste Tree produces abundant, showy spikes (racemes) of vibrant, deep lavender-blue to purple flowers. The bloom period is exceptionally long, starting in early to mid-summer and continuing well into the fall, providing color when many other shrubs have finished. The flowers are highly attractive to pollinators, especially bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The leaves are palmately compound, with 5-7 finger-like leaflets, giving them a delicate, almost fern-like texture. They are a grayish-green on top and silvery-gray underneath, and they have an aromatic, sage-like scent when crushed.
