China Boy Holly
China Boy Holly
The China Boy Holly is a highly valued and popular broadleaf evergreen shrub. It's specifically a male pollinator cultivar, meaning its primary role in the garden is to ensure that female hollies (like 'China Girl' or other Ilex x meserveae varieties) will produce their ornamental berries. The leaves are relatively small, dark green, and glossy, with characteristic spiny margins, similar to the well-known Blue Holly series. It provides excellent year-round texture and color. Produces small, inconspicuous white flowers in spring. As a male plant, it does not produce berries itself. Its flowers, however, produce abundant pollen, which is carried by bees to nearby female holly plants.
